The Governing Board of the Gold Trail Union School District welcomes you to its web pages. The Governing Board, commonly called the Board of Trustees, is the elected policy-making body of a 545 K-8 student, 60 employee public education system within the county of El Dorado, encompassing Coloma, Lotus, and portions of Placerville, California. The Board's primary responsibility is to ensure that every student served by the District is given the opportunity to be well-educated and demonstrate high academic achievement.
The Board, within these pages, seeks to provide the public with information about the public school system goals, objectives, and activities, including its meetings, Bond Oversite Committee, and other events affecting education within our District. The Board hopes that you will visit these pages often, utilize the information provided, and let it hear from you on K-8 education, and related issues including but not limited to how the contents of these pages may be improved to benefit you.
There are five members on the Gold Trail Union School District Board. Member's terms are four years and are staggered so no more than three members are elected in any one election.
the Board of Trustees holds one Regular meeting on the second Thursday of each month, starting at 6:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) with a public comment session.
The Board hold public comment sessions, as a minimum at each of its Regular and Special Meetings, to listen to comments about student achievement, budget policy, or matters currently under consideration by the Board.
