The California Prop 39 Clean Energy Jobs Act changed the corporate income tax code and directed significant funding to create jobs and energy efficiency in schools statewide.  Districts receive funding over a five year period beginning fiscal year 2013/14 with projects to be complete by June 2020.

The requirements  associated with receiving and spending the grant are complex.  The program requires a district energy study, an energy savings plan approved by the California Energy Commission, energy efficiency installations and on-going reporting.
