Danger Zones

The DANGER ZONE around the school bus is the immediate 12 foot vicinity on each side of the bus and the back of the bus.  These are the blind spots for the driver and the most dangerous for a student.  At no time shall a student stand or loiter before or after exiting the bus in this vicinity.  After exciting the student must walk away from the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.

Flashing lights indicate that the bus has stopped and the children are getting on or off. Motorists must stop their cars and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop sign is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before they can start driving again.
